How do we run sustainable events?

Have you ever considered the fact your morning coffee leaves a carbon footprint? Anyone who has ever worked an event knows coffee is an IMPERATIVE part of event day!

At FGE, sustainability is at the core of who we are. We know how to make better choices throughout the planning process, and go one step better buy offsetting everything, every step of the way - coffee included. We are proud to work with TRACE - a fantastic Australian based company, in reducing our own carbon footprint on a daily basis.

Some of the considerations that will help lower your impact for a more sustainability focussed event are;

• Reusable or compostable consumables

• Circular waste management systems - dont leave it up to delegates to guess correct bins to sort rubbish - staff may need to be available to assist or you may end up with ‘wish-cycling’ and contamination.

• Use local caterers to reduce food miles, who also have sustainable practices and food waste collection services

• Avoid balloons, use sustainable florists (foraging), or hire plants for greenery

• Avoid printing event date on media walls, lanyards and collateral so it can be reused other years

• Use electronic signage, check in, invites, ticketing etc to minimise printing

• Encourage suppliers to use veg wrap if required for product pallets. This is available through the Great Wrap Co
