Meals with Impact Launch Event
Docklands
Meals with Impact Cafe and official training program launch, attended by City of Melbourne dignitaries, media, trainee families and cafe supporters.
Used personal vases, vessels, market-fresh flowers and greenery from our own gardens for event styling.
Used rescued produce from the kitchens to support event styling at no additional cost.
Used our RSA training and food handling certification to assist F&B service when trainees became overwhelmed, or were unable to serve alcohol due to religious beliefs.
Reduced waste by replacing ribbon cutting with baking and breaking bread to officiate the opening, signifying coming together from migrant backgrounds, sharing stories and beginning the next journey to employment.
About the event
Meals with Impact’s purpose is to empower women from migrant and refugee backgrounds to find and maintain employment through the delivery of inclusive, work-integrated training at the cafe. The cafe provides above award paid employment combined with on-the-job training in the cafe, food relief services, corporate volunteering and catering services. They also offer support for participants to transition post-training into mainstream employment. The launch event was designed to thank cafe supporters and partners with the City of Melbourne and officiate the program opening.

"“We worked with the fantastic Footprint Group’s team for our social enterprise’s launch event previously. From planning to execution, the process was seamless - we cannot recommend Emma and the team enough, they made us all feel at ease and their professionalism and insight into the industry made for an incredibly successful night! We are incredibly grateful to work with such passionate and mission driven individuals and love their work.”
